In the third quarter of 2024, the top social apps in Australia demonstrated varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users, according to Sensor Tower data.

TikTok saw a significant rise in weekly revenue, peaking at around $783K in mid-August before settling at approximately $620K by the end of September. Weekly downloads fluctuated, with a notable increase to 73K in early August, but later decreased to about 54K by the quarter's end. Meanwhile, weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 5.5M throughout the quarter.

Grindr - Gay Dating & Chat maintained a consistent weekly revenue pattern, concluding the quarter with $147K. Downloads showed minor fluctuations, with a slight peak at 3K in early September. Active users experienced a gradual decline, ending at approximately 37K by the end of September.

Plenty of Fish Dating App exhibited steady revenue growth, reaching $82K in early September. However, its downloads saw a decrease, ending at around 3.3K. Active users also decreased, finishing the quarter with 21K.

Bigo Live - Live Streaming App experienced a rise in weekly revenue, peaking at $100K in mid-August and concluding the quarter at approximately $89K. Downloads varied slightly, ending at 4.8K, while active users remained consistent at around 64K throughout the quarter.

Finally, Facebook showed a steady increase in revenue, culminating at $61K by the end of September. Downloads peaked at 54K in mid-August before dropping to 42K. Active users remained stable, averaging around 18.5M during the quarter.
